What is a Stroke in Squash?

A stroke is awarded when interference prevented a clear winner from being struck — i.e. the obstructing player would have been hit by the shot or prevented a winning return. The interfering player loses the point automatically.

Example in a match

You're about to hit a winning forehand. Your opponent stands directly in front of you. You ask for a stroke — and get it. Point to you.
